A Delicious Margarita Cocktail to Have Fun!

Today I want to share this fresh and delicious cocktail with you guys! I bet you have already tried it. This is Mexico's national drink and one of the tequila cocktails that is known around the world.
The recipe is easy and explosive: tequila, Cointreau, and lemon juice. Not bad right? If you want to prepare it and be completely legit, I recommend you serve it in a cocktail glass with a little salt on the edge. We are talking about being completely pro with bar matters.
There are tons of theories about the origins of this popular drink. The most commercialized story is the one about a waiter from Tijuana that was star struck by the beauty of an actress called Rita Hayworth. He came to her with this drink and the rest is history! Another tale says that the Margarita was born in 1948 when Margaret Sames invented the recipe. She was a woman from USA's upper class. She used to prepare exotic drinks for her many parties.
The mix is simple: a combination of triple dry, tequila, and lemon juice. Margaret's drink was so popular in her celebrations that it was soon commercialized in all of the US. This is why the drink has her name.
How to prepare it?
Ingredients:
- Ice
- 45 ml of tequila
- 30 ml of lemon juice
- 15 ml of Cointreau (optional)
- 1 whisked egg white (this is optional in case you find it too gross)
- Lemon peel
- Salt
Preparation:
- Press a lemon against the edge of your glass in order to make it a little wet. Then add some salt to a plate and turn your glass on top of the salt. The salt will stick if the edge is wet.
- Mix the ice, the tequila, the lemon juice, the Cointreau, and the egg white. Use the shaker to mix perfectly.
- Serve the mix in your cocktail glass.
- Decorate with the lemon peel.
Enjoy it now. Cheers!
