"Coco Loco" (Crazy Coconut) A Tropical Drink That You Can't Miss

This time I want to share a drink that I completely recommend. A bartender friend introduced this drink to me, and I feel the need to pass the information. This cocktail is very popular in Latin America.
Coco Loco is a drink generally prepared with rum, but there are some variations. There is the Oaxaca Coco Loco and the Colombian Coco Loco. This is a drink that you will certainly find in the Caribbean because the flavor is very tropical and refreshing, perfect for a day on the beach. For example, in San Andrés (Colombia) they prepare it with vodka, tequila, white rum, lemon juice, and coconut cream. What a combination!
Ingredients:
- 1 coconut (you will basically need the white skin from the inside and the water)
- White rum
Preparation:
- The first thing you need to do is cut a small hole on the top of the coconut.
- Extract the liquid and pour it into a blender.
- Help yourself with a spoon to take all the white and delicious coconut skin from the inside of the fruit. Add it to the blender.
- Now add a cup of white rum and ice cubes, and mix all of the ingredients.
- Serve back again in the coconut and drink it with a straw.
- Or if you prefer, you can add a bit of lemon juice and grenadine.
Aside from being delicious and creamy, this is a very exotic drink because of the "glass" you'll be using. Your friends will surely love it, you can prepare this for a pool party!
